Reframing Rum Through Culture

Patois began with a belief that rum could be rooted in culture rather than cliché.
Developed alongside Gate Eleven Distillery, the brand draws inspiration from the dialects, rhythms, and shared identities that emerged across Caribbean histories. Rather than relying on familiar narratives of escapism, the project explored language itself as a carrier of culture, memory, and belonging.
Bantam developed the brand from concept through launch, creating the naming system, positioning, visual identity, packaging architecture, and messaging platform. Every element was designed to balance cultural respect with contemporary relevance while creating a scalable framework capable of supporting multiple expressions.
The result is a rum portfolio that speaks with its own voice—one grounded in authenticity, designed for modern bars, and built to grow.
