Evolving a Flagship While Building a House of Brands

When Gate Eleven Distillery opened in 2017, it launched as a branded house.

Every spirit carried the Gate Eleven name. Gin, Vodka, Rum, and Tennessee Rye Whiskey were introduced under a single identity, creating immediate recognition for a young distillery while establishing a consistent foundation for the business.

As the portfolio matured, so did the strategy.

Rather than continuing to introduce every new spirit under the same brand, Bantam helped guide the evolution toward a true house of brands. This created room for products like Patois Rum, Infâme Absinthe, Salazar Agave Spirits, and Gear Standard Spirits to develop distinct identities and speak to different audiences without losing their connection to the distillery.

Throughout that evolution, one decision remained clear.

Gate Eleven Gin and Gate Eleven Vodka had become the flagship expressions of the distillery and would continue to carry the Gate Eleven name.

That shift presented a new opportunity. Rather than creating entirely new brands, Bantam reimagined the packaging and visual identity for the flagship spirits, creating a refined design system that reflected the distillery's evolution while preserving the recognition and equity the products had already earned.

The refresh modernized the packaging, strengthened shelf presence, and brought the flagship products into alignment with the growing sophistication of the overall portfolio.

Today, Gate Eleven Gin remains one of the distillery's most celebrated spirits, earning recognition including Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, Gold at the Gin Masters, Platinum at the SIP Awards, and recognition by Forbes among the country's highest-rated gins. Together, the Gin and Vodka continue to represent the heart of the Gate Eleven portfolio while serving as the foundation from which the broader house of brands continues to grow.
